Use Guidelines

• Laptops are available for any Ramsey Library cardholder in good standing.

• Laptops can only be used INSIDE the library.

• All users must sign an agreement form before using a laptop. You only need to sign this sheet once and then can borrow laptops moving forward without signing again. The library will store the agreement forms so no further signing is required.

• Those under 18 can use a laptop, but a parent or guardian must sign the Agreement Form before borrowing.

• Laptops will be checked out on the user’s library card for the duration of the use.

Other Details

During after school hours (2pm-6pm, weekdays, during the school year), students (under 18 years old) should use a library laptop rather than a library desktop. If there are no laptops available, a desktop computer can then be used by students during this time period.

Laptops are available on a first come, first served basis. Laptop use will be limited to one hour if others are waiting to borrow a laptop. Time can be extended by staff if there is not a wait for laptop access. Borrowers should speak to a staff member to request extended time.

Security Software

All laptops have security software, which will automatically delete all information after the laptop restarts. It is still recommended that users log out of all online accounts and delete any personal information before returning the laptops to the desk.
