Ramsey residents and property owners
who wish to obtain a library card from the Ramsey Free Public Library
need to present proof of residency or anything that has your name and
address on it such as mail, drivers license, leases, or passports.
The library card may be used in any of the
73+
libraries in the Bergen County Library System as well as the Morris and
Passaic Library Cooperative Systems. With your library card you may
renew items and search online databases from home. You will need to
enter the full barcode number - no spaces - from your card. A four digit
PIN will
be required to renew items online. That must be obtained from your
library. If you have all this, check now.
Those who work in Ramsey and do not reside in
Bergen County may obtain a limited access card. Please come with your
business card or letterhead.
For further information please call us at
201-327-1445 or email us at ramscirc@bccls.org
or bloom@bccls.org.

For ten months a
committee of dedicated Ramsey residents, trustees and staff of the
Ramsey Library worked to prepare a strategic
plan for the future of our library.
Leslie and Alan Burger, consultants from Library Development
Solutions, Inc., led us through the planning process. Many members
of our community met in focus group sessions to provide
information to the consultants. Other details about library use
and needs were compiled from a recent library users survey.
The strategic plan is a flexible guide to help us determine
priorities for library services to the Ramsey community. Among the
issues addressed are concerns about the existing building, library
collections of books and media, and programs for all ages.
Many of the library services under discussion already exist and
will be enhanced. Others are new and will be implemented over time
as funding allows.
I invite you to review the strategic planning documents posted. (PDF files).
Please print copies as needed. Your comments and questions are
most welcome.
You may contact me by phone at 201-327-1445 or by email: bloom@bccls.org.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you, Wendy B. Bloom, Director
